My first flight in a 4-seater prop plane as a 12-year-old got me hooked- Microsoft flight simulator- dad took me to the airport for my first flight lesson, then got one lesson a month for two years- moving to Germany at age 14, motor planes were too expensive, soaring not interesting- career choice after school airline pilot- pilot training in Germany and USA- flew A320 for 10 years- in late 20s first flight in a glider, hooked again like that first flight in a prop plane- fast-tracked my training, got my license after half a year- soaring is the “real” flying!
