Hanicka started glider training in 2005. In 2006 She took her first solo at the age of 15. In 2007 She received her glider pilot license for her 16th birthday. Since 2009 she has been participating in gliding competitions and a member of the Czech National Gliding Team since 2012. Hanicka has 2600 gliding hours so far, 950 launches, 127 000 km cross country, and a gold badge with 3 diamonds. She has competed in two Junior Worlds, Four Women Worlds and other competitions in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. While competing she has flown the Cirrus 75 (CI), Discus 2ax (GX), LS8’s (EU, AU, FX) and Ventus 2ax (AX).
